4 Speakers in Each Ear
for True 5.1 Surround Sound
Unlike stereo headphones that rely on a single speaker in each ear cup to provide a 180 degree sound field, the AK-R8 headphones incorporate four speakers in each ear cup to handle the front, center and rear sound positions – just like a true 5.1 surround sound speaker system. The speakers are driven by a powerful, multi-channel amplifier to reproduce 3D positional sound cues that are otherwise obtainable only with surround sound speaker systems.
A pair of 40mm front speakers plus a pair of 40mm surround speakers are comparable in size and performance to speakers used in most stereo headphones. The placement and alignment of the speakers in each ear cup is optimized to give the most realistic 3D experience possible in a true multi-channel headphone.

Sub-woofer
Vibration Technology
Inside each ear cup is a subwoofer vibration unit, which, in addition to reproducing low frequency content, actually vibrates within the headphone shell to deliver an added dimension to the gaming experience. Instead of just hearing the deep bass from explosions, the sub-woofer vibration unit shakes to enhance the sonic realism.

Independent Controls
for 5.1 Channels
The SRM provides a master volume control with mute, so you can quickly adjust the volume level or shut off the sound. In addition, the software control panel provides independent controls for front, rear, center, and sub-woofer speaker levels as well as a master volume control.

Bass Enhancement System
A unique sub-woofer filter network extracts and combines low frequencies from the front, surround and center channels to drive the sub-woofer/vibrator speakers in each ear cup. This results in deep bass response for any type of input signal (music, games, movies, etc.) regardless of whether or not the source has a sub-woofer signal.

Dual Outputs for 5.1 Channel and Stereo Headphones
The SRM includes a multi-pin connector for the 5.1 headphones as well as a stereo jack for a second set of stereo headphones, so two people can be listening at the same time.

User-Programmable Presets for Control Panel Settings
The SRM control panel software lets you save all of your favorite settings as presets that are easily retrieved with a simple mouse click. So, switching between stereo, 5.1, ambiance, and other settings is quick and easy.

A pair of microphones built into the SRM can be used as a stereo room monitor so you can hear what’s going on around you while wearing headphones and continue enjoying great sound without disturbing others.

10 Band Graphic Equalizer with Programmable Presets
The SRM control panel software includes a 10-band graphic equalizer to tailor the sound by increasing or decreasing the bass, treble, midrange and other frequencies. A set of factory and user-programmable presets make it easy to switch between your favorite settings.

DSP Ambiance Effects
The SRM control panel software includes powerful Digital Signal Processing (DSP) effects to adjust the apparent speaker positions on the 5.1 channel headphones as well as add room ambiance to simulate the sound of concert halls, clubs, and more.

Analog and Digital Outputs
In addition to driving the 5.1 channel headphones, the SRM is a full-featured USB sound card that includes both analog and digital inputs and outputs for recording and playback, so it can actually replace your PC or laptop sound card. The line output can be used to connect stereo speakers and the line input lets you hear external audio sources, like an MP3 player, on your headphones or speakers.
