Setting up the Ear Force X41 with your XBOX 360 is easy! The package includes everything you need. Simply connect the transmitter power cord to any USB port on the XBOX (or on a nearby PC or laptop) and insert the included batteries into the headset. Next, connect the XBOX digital audio output to the X41 transmitter with the included fiber optic cable and follow the instructions to configure the XBOX audio setup screen. Turn on the power, and you’re ready to start enjoying amazing surround sound with your XBOX games. To use XBOX Live, connect the headset to the XBOX controller with the included talkback cable. The game and chat volumes are independently adjustable.
Video Technology
The Ear Force X41 transmitter connects to the Xbox optical digital output on the XBOX AV cable. This connection doesn’t interfere with the XBOX video connection, so you can use composite, component or HDMI video connections from your XBOX to your TV or monitor for viewing the game.
Digital RF Wireless Technology
The X41 transmits game audio via an uncompressed wireless digital radio frequency (RF) signal to deliver CD-quality sound that rivals professional-grade wired headphones. The RF wireless digital technology uses advanced "frequency-hopping" that scans the airwaves for the best signal path to provide a reliable connection even when used around wireless LANs or other RF devices. Best of all, the X41 wireless RF signal does not require "line of sight" to operate. That means you can stand anywhere near your XBOX and hear a clear, noise-free signal.
Dolby Surround Sound
Although the X41 is designed specifically for playing XBOX 360 games, its Dolby Surround Sound feature makes it an ideal addition to your home theater system. When you’re not playing XBOX® games, you can enjoy DVD movies in surround sound without disturbing others, or listen to your TV, music or other stereo sources with the expanded sound of Dolby Pro Logic® IIx processing.

By configuring the X41 transmitter as illustrated below, you can listen to the XBOX or TV with the X41 headphones, and you can also hear the XBOX game on your home theater speakers without disconnecting the X41 transmitter.
The stereo analog inputs on the X41 transmitter are connected to the TV and will automatically shut off whenever the XBOX is active. When the XBOX is turned off, the analog inputs will automatically turn on so you can listen to TV shows with the X41 headphones without having to disconnect cables.
Connecting the X41 transmitter digital output to your home theater system will pass the XBOX game audio from the transmitter’s digital input to the home theater AV receiver digital input, so you can hear the game only on the X41 headphones, just turn down the volume or mute your AV receiver to shut off the speakers.
The additional headphone jack on the transmitter lets you connect a second set of wired headphones so someone else can listen to the same Dolby surround sound audio that's being transmitted to the X41 wireless headset.
