What Do I Need?

 

Note: The Audio Advantage Micro is an audio component which provides sound for your Desktop or Notebook system when connected to external Powered Speakers or Headphones. Whether you're looking to improve your existing sound card or replace an old or broken sound card, the "Audio Advantage Micro" will deliver.

 

The Audio Advantage Micro supports both USB 1.1 and 2.0 ports.

Computer (PC)

Pentium 450 MHz / compatible or higher (PC or Laptop) with one available USB port.
Computer (MAC)

The Audio Advantage Micro offers limited capabilites for Mac Users. For more information, click here.
RAM

128 MB system RAM (minimum)

Approximately 50MB of free hard drive space is required during the driver / application installation process.

CD-ROM Drive

CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive required for software installation. A DVD drive, compatible DVD player software, and a high-quality 5.1 Surround speaker system (5 powered speakers plus a powered subwoofer) are required for playing back Dolby® Digital (AC-3) audio from DVD movies with the Audio Advantage.
Speakers

High quality stereo (2-speaker) sound system, stereo powered speakers or headphones are recommended to properly hear the Audio Advantage high-quality stereo playback.

A digital speaker system or home theater A/V receiver with optical TOSLINK is necessary for connecting the Audio Advantage optical digital output.

 

Information for Mac Users

Most Macs by default do not provide straight digital output capabilities. Providing direct digital output usually requires a user to find and purchase an expensive sound card and install it into their system. Audio Advantage Micro provides Mac users a no-hassle and inexpensive alternative to reach this same goal.    

The Audio Advantage Micro offers the following features to Macs running OSX and higher    

  • Analog audio output capabilities
  • Digital audio output capabilities

Features not available to Mac users:    

  • Dolby Digital / DTS
  • Provided software suite.
  • 3D effects capabilities
