The Turtle Beach XP500 is a special version of the critically-acclaimed PX5 that’s designed specifically for the XBOX 360 and includes an XBA Bluetooth adapter for wireless XBOX Live chat. The DSP allows gamers to enhance and personalize the entire gaming audio experience with fully customizable game, chat and mic signals. Custom presets stored in the Turtle Beach XP500 headset can be selected during specific parts of the game to emphasize sounds like footsteps or reloads that might otherwise be difficult to hear. It can even be programmed to disguise your voice or to enhance the voices of online players so you can hear them more clearly during intense parts of the game.

Bluetooth technology lets you chat wirelessly on XBOX LIVE and PSN, answer mobile phone calls and stream music – all while gaming in immersive 360 degree surround sound.

Although optimized for Xbox 360 gaming, the Turtle Beach XP500 is also perfect for watching movies and listening to music, with its impeccable audio performance, large, deep, fabric cushions, soft headband, and twist cup designed for resting the headset on your shoulders. The Turtle Beach XP500 continues the evolution of a new breed of wireless gaming headset that serves as the ultimate “secret weapon” in the arsenal of serious gamers seeking unmatched audio quality, sonic control and a competitive advantage.

What's In The Box?

How Does It Work?

The Ear Force XP500 lets you customize the way game, chat, and mic sounds are processed. You can configure each preset with different settings to enhance specific parts of the sound.

With the press of a button, you can completely change your sound environment and hear sound cues you’d normally miss. For instance, you can isolate the sound of footsteps in the distance while gunshots are blasting all around you or hear the clink of a bullet shell falling on the floor. By adjusting the way sounds are processed, you can choose what’s important and react faster. The XP500 also reduces ear fatigue with its unique Ear Guard feature that automatically controls the volume of extremely loud sounds, like explosions, without affecting other sounds in the game. You can play longer without having to turn it down for the occasional blasts of explosions and gun shots.

Presets give you a huge competitive advantage by allowing you to hone in on sounds your enemies can’t even hear, making sure communication with your team is crystal-clear and filtering out distracting noises that can overwhelm your concentration.

Game Presets

Game presets change the way the headset processes game sounds, so you can tune in to the important sounds at critical parts of the game. For example, if you're having a hard time hearing footsteps while playing your favorite FPS, just load up a preset that makes footsteps louder and you can suddenly hear them over loud gunfire and explosions, just as if you had super human hearing.

Chat Presets

Chat presets manipulate the voices from XBOX Live and PlayStation Network chat. Have a teammate or friend who's always huffing and puffing into the mic? Just load up a preset that kills off really quiet chat sounds so you don't have to listen to the breathing. You could use a chat preset to limit burst volume if you've got a friend prone to victory-yelling. Or, load the Chat Boost preset if you can't hear your teammates over the roar of loud game blasts.

Mic Presets

Mic presets let you change the way others hear your voice. If you're playing in a room with a lot of ambient sounds, you can quiet things down by using a preset that shuts off the mic when you aren't talking. You can also have fun with the Voice Morphing feature which can make you sound like a monster, a chipmunk or anything in-between.

Customize Your Headset

Register and download software to create, edit, and upload new presets to your XP500. New and useful presets will be regularly updated and download-able directly from TurtleBeach.com/Customize. The possibilities are endless and the concept is revolutionary.

Alan Wake - Zombie Foot Steps

This sound clip shows how the sonic lens pulls out faint footsteps masked by background music and other noise. In the original clip, you can barely hear the footsteps in the background, while in the processed clip the footsteps are clear, with less background masking. Also, listen to how the Blast Limiter reduces the intensity of the gun blast so the sound level can be turned up to better hear the footsteps, without making the other sounds too loud.

Call of Duty: Black Ops - Foot Steps

This clip illustrates footsteps masked by intense wind, making them hard to hear. The processed clip illustrates how the sonic lens and equalizer can reduce the wind level to bring out the footsteps, making them easy to hear.

Halo Reach - Foot Steps in Water

These clips show how a combination of Sonic Lens, EQ processing and Sound Field Expander make it easy to hear footsteps in water by eliminating the distracting noise that is masking the footsteps.

Call of Duty: Black Ops - Machine Gun Fire

This clip shows how the sound of machine gun fire can get too loud, making it impossible to turn up the volume to hear softer sounds. With the Blast Limiter, the machine gun sound is lowered without affecting other sounds. This lets you turn up the volume to hear soft sounds while not blasting your ear drums with louder machine gun sounds.

Forza Motor Sports - Music

These clips show how the sound of background music can be reduced with Sonic Lens and EQ processing, so you can listen to your own music over the racing of engines.
