It is not uncommon for noise from interference to occur in wireless
Transmitters and Receivers. This interference is most likely to occur
if there are other devices in the vicinity that transmit on the same or
similar frequencies used by these accessories. If you experience noise
in your audio transmission, here are some tips to help you fix the problem:
1. Both the Audio Sender and Audio Receiver are equipped with switches on
their underside that allow you to choose between four different channels.
Try changing both units to a different channel ? but remember that both
units must be set to the same channel! For instance, if your Sender and
Receiver are both set to Channel A, try setting both units to Channel D.
2. Some other radio frequency devices will cause interference when used at
the same time. Make sure the other devices are using different 'channels'
to transmit/receive. For example, most cordless telephones will allow you
to choose from 30 or more different channels.
One unavoidable source of Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) is operation of
a microwave oven in the same vicinity as these accessories. Microwave ovens
radiate a broad band of radio frequency noise, some of which is in the same
frequency range. As a result, using your microwave oven will cause noise in
your audio transmissions. The solution is to not use your microwave oven when
you are listening to audio through a remote transmission. Interference will
only occur while you are actually using the microwave oven. The microwave oven
may be left powered on, but cooking something will cause interference.
A quick word about Radio Frequency Interference:

Radio frequency interference (RFI) is caused by radio frequency (RF)
transmissions from devices that cause 'noise' or 'static' in other devices
(similar to when 'snow' on your TV screen is caused by interference from
operation of a vacuum cleaner or an electric power tool*).
*This example is actually caused by interference from Electro-Magnetic
Induction (EMI), not RFI, but the effect of the interference is similar.
IMPORTANT INSTALLATION NOTE:

Before proceeding with the Software Installation:
1. Shut down and power off your computer.
2. Connect the Remote Base Station to a Serial Port on your computer.
3. Turn on your computer and proceed with the rest of the installation
instructions (starting on page 17 of the AudioStation Getting Started
Guide).
