Q: What kind of movie sizes/frame rates/picture resolution (image quality) can be expected for AVI files for the Video Advantage PCI product? For example, can half size (320 x 240) movies at 25+ frames per second and medium quality be obtained on a Dell GX280 with 1 GB memory running at 2.8 Ghz? How about full size (640 x 480) at 25+ frames per second and medium quality?
A: Since .avi is an uncompressed video format, you would achieve the best possible quality. The trade off is that the files will be very large. As for the quality obtained using a specific machine, this would depend on the installed peripherals, how well the machine is maintained, quality of components, etc. For this reason, we are unable to predict what each user's maximum quality will be using the Video Advantage system. The majority of users obtain excellent results for their projects.
To find out how your system can handle CPU intensive processes such as Video Capturing / Editing, you may obtain test Utilities from the Internet. _____________________________________________________________________________ |
