How to Play Separate Clips as One Continuous Movie
Problem:
When the DVD is made of the project, each clip plays as a separate 'chapter'
- but Customer wants DVD to play as one continuous movie.

Q: In PowerDirector:
After I produced each set of clips separately, I pulled them all together
on one workspace by clicking "Yes" when asked, "Would you like to add
previous work to the Library?"

After I had all movies in one workspace, I right-clicked and chose:
"Add to work space" until I created one continuous movie. It was all added
to the workspace in the Video section (?).

I then produced the long movie and saved it. I could not find it when I
tried to open it through PowerProducer, because PowerDirector saved it as
a PDS file, and PowerProducer cannot open this file type.

A: When you assembled your clips into a movie, were you in Timeline view or
in Storyboard view? In the Help item "Add a Clip to the Workspace" there
is a Note that recommends using the Timeline view for assembling a movie.

In the Timeline view, you want to drag items from the Library down onto
the Timeline, where you can see how the clips will play as time goes by
in the project. For instance, maybe Clip 1 will stop at 00:01:38.00 on
the timeline.

You can insert Clip 2 (drag it down from the Library) onto the timeline
so that it begins right at 00:01:38:01, right where Clip 1 ends. This will
make a seamless edit with instant transition from one 'scene' to the next.

For Producing the final movie, the software is set up for you to Produce
Movie (in PowerDirector, File > Produce Movie (F11)) and then choose the
appropriate items in the wizard that opens. This will make the appropriate
type of files on your computer, in the location shown in the Export File
field under the Preview window.

From there, you can either save a file that can later be burned to a DVD
by your DVD-burning program, or you click Burn Movie in PowerDirector and
PowerProducer will open and open its own wizard.
