Q: When the Turtle Beach headset is plugged into a wireless Xbox 360 controller everything works fine, but when plugged into a wired controller it makes an annoying buzzing noise. I prefer wired controllers, so how can I stop the buzzing?

A: Wired controllers are known to cause a buzzing noise like a ground loop. Also, MadCatz controllers are not compatible with Turtle Beach headsets, as these third-party controllers can generate buzzing noises. Since this doesn't happen with the wireless controller, it must be a grounding problem. (See: Ground Loops)

Suggestion 1: Try connecting your Turtle Beach headset (for wired models) or transmitter (for wireless models) to a different power source. Instead of connecting to your Xbox 360 for USB power, connect to a laptop, PC, or a USB power adapter to break the common ground between the controller and transmitter. If this solves the problem, then you can buy our USB power adapter (pictured) to eliminate the grounding problem on your Xbox 360. click here

Suggestion 2: Try connecting your headset to a different wired Xbox 360 controller, in case your controller is defective.

That sounds like the problem I'm having. I know its not my wireless controler, because it buzzes like this when all three of my controlers are plugged in to charge. Will try this cuz I already have the usp wall charger. thanks for the solution.

In order to fix the buzzing sound from headphone you can do like this: Plug the headphone into sockets. At this moment you can hear a radio static like noise very uncomfortable to your ears. First go to Control Panel>Sound>Tab Voice. Look down to Test Harware and press this button. You can see a bright green and yollow light colum flickering. Continue completing wizard and take out the headphone. Reboot the PC. Now you can have a good headphone. Any one is successful to fix the headphone, please email me.
