Microphone Volume Adjustment with PC - Windows 7, Vista, XP

When setting up your headphones, remember that some of the setup procedures for Windows 7 and Vista are substantially different from in Windows XP. The user guide for most of our headsets has a separate section for configuring your headset in Windows XP and Windows 7 and Vista.
 
Windows XP allows you to adjust the volume of your microphone directly from the speaker icon in your system tray, in the lower right corner of your screen by entering the audio mixer. Win XP also allows you to check the "Mic Boost" option from the mixer's Advanced Recording Settings (not available in Vista or Win 7). If you attempt to use the Windows XP instructions in Windows 7 or Vista, there will be no recording device slider in the mixer - it will only include output devices.  This does not mean your USB headset is not working!
 
In Windows 7 and Vista, it is necessary to adjust these settings through the device properties, which can be found either by right-clicking your speaker icon and selecting "Recording Devices" or by navigating to the Control Panel and selecting "Hardware and Sound" > "Sound", then selecting the "Recording" tab.  Once at this screen, you need to select "Turtle Beach USB Headset," click the "Properties" button, then navigate to the "Levels" tab.

NOTE: With the PX5, XP500 you can also adjust the Mic's output volume using the Advanced Sound Editor.
