Not many knew just how great IO Interactive’s James Bond adventure, 007 First Light, would be before it was released back in May of this year. However, after garnering many glowing reviews and currently holding a very respectable Metacritic score of 87, it's undeniable that First Light has earned its place as a certified banger and award contender.
007 First Light delivered on the Bond fantasy with an original narrative inspired by previous adaptations of the character. Players are given the unique opportunity to romp through the famous spy’s origin story as a young MI6 recruit as he endeavors to earn his "00" designation. However, after the credits rolled, many fans began craving more options for post-game fun.
Well, those fans are now being rewarded with a free –yes I said free!– DLC package that includes many features players have been clamoring for, according to the announcement trailer. Doesn’t get much better than that!
The 007 First Light - Extended Operations DLC includes new missions, a new driving activity called Valhalla Protocol, a Photo Mode, New Game+, a challenging new “00” difficulty, new weapons, outfits, and more.
When Does it Come Out?
Right now! It’s out right now! For free! Go pick it up, why don’tcha! And if you don’t have a copy of 007 First Light yet, it’s available now on XBOX, PS5® Consoles, and PC, with a Nintendo Switch™ 2 version coming in March 2027.
This is a Big Week for Bond Fans
The free DLC announcement comes almost a week after 007: First Light received a bevy of Golden Joystick Award nominations, including for Best Storytelling, Best Soundtrack, Console Game of the Year, Best Lead Performer for James Bond actor Patrick Gibson, and Best Supporting Performer for John Greenway actor Lennie James. If you haven’t gotten a chance to play this game, you still have time before GTA 6 comes out on November 19th and consumes your every waking hour.
And speaking of spies, we all know stealth is the name of the game when it comes to spying. And when it comes to stealth? Turtle Beach has you covered. Specifically, your ears. With a kick-ass headset.
The Stealth™ Pro II is officially certified for Hi-Res Audio and features 60mm Eclipse™ dual drivers for powerful bass and stunning audio detail. It also features CrossPlay 2.0, which lets you wirelessly switch between up to 4 audio sources – perfect if, like a spy, you also keep a bunch of devices and gadgets on you.
