Fortnite Season X Looks To The Past For Its Future

Games News

FORTNITE SEASON X LOOKS TO THE PAST FOR ITS FUTURE

Fortnite Season X has finally arrived, and so far it might be the craziest update in the history of the popular battle royale game.

The start of any new season in the high-profile Fortnite Battle Royale has always received plenty of attention. However, the anticipation for the beginning of Season X has been extremely high. Epic Games has been teasing the Loot Lake orb created from the epic Monster vs. Mech fight would explode and dramatically alter the world of Fortnite forever. This massive event came to fruition with the start of Season X, as the Loot Lake orb explosion has sent the world of Fortnite into a time-traveling adventure where new and old elements are now present for the community to experience all at once.

With so many dramatic changes occurring with the start of Season X, you might want to read up on all the literal game-changers that we’ve gathered together here for you.

First, let us start with all of the new pieces of content and experiences players now have access to. It wouldn’t be a new season of Fortnite without a new Battle Pass filled to the brim with new skins and other cosmetic items for players to earn. Season X’s Battle Pass reinforces the theme of the battle royale title looking to the past for its future with multiple of its skins being complete revamps of characters from past seasons. Don’t worry though, as there are plenty of never-seen-before skins and styles also making their debut in Fortnite Season X.

Other noteworthy additions to the battle royale title by way of the Season X Battle Pass are Missions. These Missions give players a whole array of new opportunities to earn rewards by completing various challenges instead of the traditional daily challenge format of past Fortnite seasons.

Epic Games also changed a great deal when it comes to the loot pool of the popular game. The Season X update for Fortnite saw the following items sent to the vault:

  • Baller
  • Quad Crasher
  • Flint Knock Pistol
  • Shadow Bomb
  • Semi-Auto Sniper
  • Tactical Assault Rifle
  • Mounted Turret
  • Air Strike
  • Itemized Glider Redeploy (still available in large team modes)

However, this did not stop Epic Games from adding one of the most unique vehicles Fortnite has ever seen… the Brute Mech. The Brute Mech allows two players to take control of the giant robot with one operating the movement of the machine, and the other player controlling the shotgun and missile weapons the Brute has in its arsenal. Players also can use 200 of any material to create an overshield for the Brute, which lasts five seconds.

Two players in the Brute Mech stalk an alley, while a poor player hides behind a dumpster with pistol in hand.

Finally, Season X of Fortnite has added new kinds of locations to its environment in the form of Rift Zones. These Rift Zones appeared following the Loot Lake orb explosion and have brought back points of interests from past seasons to the current map of the battle royale game. These are not exact copies of these points of interest, however, as the Rift Zone versions bring some very unique alterations to these locations. From altering the cosmetic look of your skins to not allowing players to build, these Fortnite Season X Rift Zones have put a whole new spin on how players will experience these nostalgic areas.

Veteran Fortnite players will also be overjoyed (or not…) to see the fan-favorite locations of Dusty Depot and Factories have also made a return to the map of the battle royale title in Season X. Community members will even notice the giant meteor, which destroyed dusty depot back at the beginning of Season 4, can now be seen frozen in the sky in another nod to the time-traveling theme of this season.

Drift watches as a familiar meteor hangs in the air as a reminder of Season 4.

It is no secret that many in the Fortnite community have not been happy with all of the significant changes Epic Games has implemented and rolled out for its popular title over the past few seasons. Looking to remedy these complaints, Epic Games has set back the clock on fan-favorite aspects of its battle royale game. The developer is also creating for the future with its array of brand new additions as well. Whatever your take, Season X is likely to get a whole lot nuttier so jump on in and see what exciting adventures you and your friends can have in the next chapter of Fortnite.
