Team Ninja has been a long-established developer, and they've built this reputation through sheer consistency with franchises such as Ninja Gaiden, and now Nioh.
Nioh 3 features some gruesome combat and if you're interested in the series as a whole, then it'll be good to know that yes, Nioh 3 is directly after the events of the second game.
However, many have described it as happening around the same time, and another caveat is that Nioh 2 is a prequel, actually, to the first game!
