Generation 10 has now been officially announced, and Pokemon Winds and Waves are the next games on many of our playlists.

Will Pokemon Winds and Waves Release On Nintendo Switch 1? Answered
At the February 2026 Pokémon Presents, we finally got our first glimpse at the franchise’s next evolution and it looks seriously impressive.
Winds and Waves marks a major leap forward for Pokémon, with a clear focus on enhanced visuals and a more expansive, immersive world than ever before. However, some questions have now risen in regards to how this will work with the Switch 1 hardware.
As of now, it does NOT appear as Pokemon Winds, and Pokemon Waves will be released on the original Nintendo Switch. Nintendo is going all-in on the Switch 2 hardware and trying to capture all that they can.
