Overwatch has now been fully rebranded, and Overwatch 2 is no more, and Blizzard is essentially resetting the clock on the game's life cycle.
While we've seen other hero shooters such as Marvel Rivals ramp up their hero release cadence with two new ones each season, Blizzard has now announced their plans for 2026.

How Many Overwatch Heroes Are Releasing This Year? Answered
Blizzard releasing five new heroes at the onset of Season 1 was something that no one expected, but here we are.
This is quite the jump from the 1-2 that we've been used to throughout the duration of OW2. But, this is all going to change in 2026 as Blizzard has now fully committed to releasing ten new heroes in 2026.
With Season 1 offering 5 for us to try, we can expect 1-2 each season until the end of the year!
