Overwatch 2 most recently released the brand new Season 6 for players, which included the new PvE mode in Invasion.
Competitive, has been soaring as of late, and it’s all getting revamped in Season 9, along with some notable hero changes.
Now, Blizzard has announced that they’re going to be adding self-healing for all heroes.
Overwatch 2 Adding Self-Healing To All Heroes In Season 9
The new changes were announced during the developer blog post that was uploaded on January 12, and while they mainly talked about how they balance the game and how nerfs or buffs are made throughout the season, there was a note regarding the new addition to heroes.
In short, every hero in Overwatch 2 is going to be getting the same passive healing effect that the support character already had, which will certainly shake up the game quite a bit.

In Season 9, both Tank and Damage heroes will get a modified, tuned-down version of the Support self-healing passive. This should give non-Support players more options in terms of sustaining themselves. It should also take some of the pressure off Support players to keep everyone alive since individual players now have more control of their own health pool. In Overwatch, there is a constant tug of war between the power of a team and the power of an individual hero or player. A change like this shifts that balance a bit. This is something that we are constantly evaluating. We still want Overwatch to be defined by team strategy and mechanics, but we feel this can be pulled back a bit now and possibly more in the future.
